About Our Founder

Mitchell DubrosInvestigation Hotline was Founded by seasoned entrepreneur and business executive Mitchell (“Mitch”) Dubros.

Mitchell’s first business “Just-in-Case” supplied bulk items to businesses and individuals across Canada. Under Mitchell’s leadership, the business grew significantly in the 1970s and 1980s, and helped pioneer the category that is now dominated by global billion-dollar multinationals like Costco.

Throughout his career and life — he was identified as an “Indigo Child” at a very young age — Mitchell demonstrated penetrating, and often profound insights into the human condition; including an uncanny ability to detect liars in minutes (and sometimes seconds). This innate talent, combined with his natural desire to help others, inspired him to enter the private investigation field and launch Investigation Hotline in 1988.

Since that time, Mitchell has introduced and championed a variety of methods, techniques and tactics that have now become established best practices in the private investigation field, and which have helped elevate Investigation Hotline into one of Ontario’s most sought-after private investigation firms [read the press release].

As for why Mitchell selected the name “Investigation Hotline,” the answer is simple: he knows that investigating identity, personal matters, corporate matters, or providing forensic services is not a 9-to-5 job. It is a 24/7/365 commitment. Clients who reach out to Mitchell’s team — including those outside of Ontario and Canada —can expect to reach someone day or night.

Also, one of Mitchell’s most defining personal characteristics is also clearly reflected in the day-to-day work operations of Investigation Hotline: defending and fighting for individuals who have been misled, let down, and in some cases outright lied to by policing agencies, businesses and individuals, or the government — and in some cases, all of the above. Every client who chooses Investigation Hotline, regardless of the unique details of their matter, is treated with unwavering professionalism and total care, and experiences a level of dogged determination and world-class competence that gets results in and out of court.

Another of Mitchell’s core personality traits that establishes the foundation and powers the vision of Investigation Hotline is complete transparency. Clients who engage Mitchell immediately discover that he is ethical, honest, dependable and reliable. He tells people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear — because doing otherwise is not in their best interests. Similarly, clients who research the company can access a public review process that Mitchell implemented, and which provides unbiased testimonials. It is a level of openness, transparency and trust-building that is somewhat rare in the private investigations field, but which Mitchell — and Investigation Hotline — consistently demonstrate each day, without compromise and without exception.

Some of the many 5-star reviews that Mitchell and his colleagues have earned over the years include:

  • “This company surpassed my expectations. They’re professional, efficient and discrete. My situation required immediate attention and they were on it quickly. They delivered on their promises and their prices are affordable. At the onset, I shared my budget and they were able to complete the job within my budget. They really do get results!! I highly recommend this company to anyone needing these kinds of services.” – Reese Fedun
  • “After being told to reach out to Investigation Hotline I have to say I couldn’t be happier with them. Mitch is very insightful and you can tell he is compassionate and willing to help. He even made me chuckle as he helped me think positively and see clearly through my ordeal. He gave me steps and information I would need to take, and our conversation was very pleasant. Highly recommend Investigation Hotline for any of your needs. The fees were fair and well worth it.” — Jordan Simpson
  • “I am a licensed investigator from California and enlisted the services of the hotline team on a matter in Ontario. They were honestly amazing and got the job done. My case was very time-sensitive and not an easy one, but they knew exactly what to do. Also, they kept me in the loop and apprised of their progress. I didn’t have to keep calling and chasing them down to see how it was going. I would use the hotline team again in a heartbeat and recommend this company very, very highly.” — Sandra D.

When he is not doing what he loves most and was born to do — helping clients get the answers they need to move forward in the best possible way — Mitchell enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and reading; especially a celebrated work that has earned a permanent spot on his bookshelf: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
